Lara Croft Sprints Into the Trilogy Release Race

Earlier today, Ubisoft confirmed plans to release an HD remake trilogy of the Splinter Cell series — now, Square Enix is revealing plans to do the same for Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider franchise.

Confirmed by Karl Stewart, the publisher’s Global Brand Manager on Twitter, the Tomb Raider trilogy is expected to include two non-PS3 releases as well as the PlayStation 3 release of Tomb Raider: Underworld. We’re not sure whether or not we can then classify this in the same grouping as Splinter Cell, Sly, etc,…but considering Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary weren’t released on the PlayStation 3, we think it’s worth lumping them together.

“Yes, it’s official. #TombRaider PS3 ‘Trilogy’ pack coming in the new year. Full details next week. Watch this space.”

You can expect to hear further details on this trilogy pack starting next week.
