The two men responsible for founding BioWare, Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk, have recently discussed plans on how they intend to assimilate PlayStation 3 owners into the Mass Effect 2 universe prior to the game starting. As many of you know, the sequel to the highly successful new IP happens to include a good chunk of happenings from the original and many gamers showed concern that this could damper the entire experience.
Fortunately for PlayStation 3 owners, BioWare is doing everything they can to make sure they’re getting the best experience possible. Today, they revealed that they plan on bringing gamers into the fold through a new component called the “introductory module.”
“What we’re providing is an introductory module. We haven’t revealed the details of what that is yet, but it’s going to provide a lot of information on both the context and setting of Mass Effect,” said Muzyka.
Dr. Muzyka believes this new module will give players the best understanding possible of what they missed in the original.
“I think players are going to have a really good framing of the experience as a result, and they’re going to know what they’re heading into. Mass Effect 2 is a stand-alone experience, and this is just going to make it that much richer.”
Of course, both Dr. Ray and Dr. Greg aren’t giving away any trade secrets or other insight into exactly what an introductory module is…so when questioned about it, the answer was exactly what you’d expect it to be.
“That remains a mystery.” said Dr Greg.
