Mass Effect 2 to feature bonus content for PS3

With the news earlier today revolving around BioWare finally announcing Mass Effect for the PlayStation 3, a lot of gamers wondered how it would work. After all, Mass Effect 2 is the sequel in the franchise and PlayStation 3 owners would not be receiving the first title in the franchise to go along with it.

While some feel that Mass Effect 2 is good enough to stand alone, there remains the questions about how BioWare plans to tie in information from the first game so PS3 owners can be brought up to date on the happenings within the game world. Some questioned whether there would be DLC or not for the game as well.

Thankfully, the official site for Mass Effect 2 contains a great quote that should give very minimal insight into the game:

“The PlayStation 3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and hours of bonus content, making this the perfect introduction to BioWare’s award-winning action RPG franchise.”

What will this bonus content contain? Will it be the DLC already available on the 360? Who knows? We’ve sent word out to BioWare to find out!

OMG this is gonna be epic, the ps3 version will look the best aswell if dragons age is anything to go by since it was the better then the 360 version
This along with the extra content is gonna ROCK,day 1 buy for me.
Bye Bye 360 ,ps3 is getting rewarded for its mature fanbase that buys all games ,not just pew pew shooters like halo milked n reached.

  4. How is it gonna have more content on the ps3 when it’s gonna be in just one disc?
    ; )

  5. @8ball

Hope you’re being sarcastic because everybody knows ps3 disks hold more content than xbox360 by far.

  6. This is why PS3 is saweet!

    1. Free Online
    2. Late “M$ Exclusives” bundled with free DLC that 360 owners had to pay for.
    3. Bluray.

  7. Too little too late EA/BioWare. I have both on the PC, which is FAR superior to either console version anyway.

  8. …says the bozo paying 50 bucks a year for the free multiplayer content of games, for a service without servers:) Still playing sales, still living 2007. Chearing for an extra frame or texture in his multiplats when there’s hardly any exclusive AAA game left or being made…

  9. @ the just deleted idiotic rant by “PS3FB’sSuck” or something, ah nevermind.

Yeah and how much money or time did you sink into all that DLC. Thats about 2000 Microsoft points or about 25 Dollars. Thats about 80-90 achievements. I’m pretty sure you can’t get that amount of achievements from one game so maybe three or four ridiculously short FPS games. Yeah money and time well spent. I think your just but hurt about the prospect that EA will be gifting all that DLC to PS3 owners for free. I bet, just to be competitive, that the game will hit shelves at 40-50 dollars. Oh yeah did I mention one disc. No one has ever laughed at me for owning a PS3, but everyone laughs at the guy who has the misfortune of getting the RROD. I guess it gives those guys a chance to buy into MS newest scam, the Xbox360 Slim. “Yes we did not fix any of the problems in the current 360 we just set it so that the 360S will shut down when you are playing a game, if the temperature reaches a certain degree. But rest assured, we are still using the faulty hardware found in the old 360 and we still use that disc scratching optical drive that everyone with kids love. But no one who buy our console should have kids because we are Microsoft and we want to tel l you how to live your lives.”
So this being said, I laugh at you

  11. It’s no replacement for ME1, but at least they’re doing something.

  12. hahaha.. pretty funny that the losers who said back in january that they couldn’t care less that mass effect 2 was not coming to ps3 are now the first to scream for joy!!! Pathetic people. I am glad it’s coming to ps3 because as someone who owns both consoles I appreciate how great the mass effect series is and more people able to enjoy the best game this year is good for gamers and the industry as a whole. The way some of you idiots carry on about 360 is best or ps3 is best better be getting paid by one of these companies, but I know the overwhelming majority of you losers are instead just shelling out fistfuls of money for the “priviledge” to play the games these corporations make. Then they get more of your dollars by charging you for dlc, map packs, “limited” editions, and what not. And you are too stupid to realize that your “loyalty” means nothing. Wake up children and get a life.

    cool story bro ^

  14. It’s people like Xino who make me sick.
As an Xbox fan I can’t say I’m happy with this, If both version end up with the exact same content I’ll be fine with it, but more than likely the PS3 version will look better with some improved work over the months and get special content. Oh well can’t wait for ME3 on the 360

Come on, all us fanboys are the same at heart. We care that our competitor just lost a console exclusive. Compared to this loss of leverage from our competitor I could care less about the game. It also gives us a new thing to downplay our rivals, and that is what a fanboy really cares about. The same thing happened with Final Fantasy XIII, kinda, but Sony lost the exclusive and many Sony fanboy sunk into depression, then rage, then many internet post declaring their hatred towards Square. But th point is, I am still unhappy about it and my friends, who are 360 Fandboys, stll berate me about it. But did they ever play the game, NO, they didn’t play the game. I’m not saying there aren’t people who are genuinely happy for this advancement, and will go out and buy it the fist day it comes out. Heck I just got a brand spanking new gaming laptop so I really could care less that Mass Effect is coming to the PS3, so I see no reason to “scream for joy”. Unless EA packs in some PS3 exclusive content; i will be waiting for the next STEAM sale and pick up Mass Effect for a great price.

  16. Eat your hearts out Xbots…..
I loved the way GeneralMLD was bitching with his “it’s not a big deal” thing about ME2…Stupid motha fucker…
