Medal of Honor sells millions from the get go

According to sales figures from GfK-ChartTrack, EA’s Medal of Honor modern combat shooter has managed to sell 1.5 million copies worldwide since its release last week. These figures are relatively impressive considering the length of time between Medal of Honor releases and the decline in popularity the franchise took with its previous installment.

Medal of Honor reached the 1.5 million sales figure in roughly five days after release, which is a pretty short span of time. Surprisingly enough, EA wasn’t too shocked by the titles success as the company had been hyping it up several months prior to its release.

“Medal of Honor is one of EA’s most storied franchises and we’re thrilled to see that fans worldwide have embraced it,” states EA President, Frank Gibeau.

It’s great to see the franchise return to its former glory and hopefully EA decides to build upon this to create an even better product the next time around.
