Last year, developers behind the Mercenaries franchise, Pandemic Studios, was closed down and production on all of its titles were primarily put on hold. This included the next sequel into the series known as Mercenaries 3: No Limits. Unfortunately for fans, the chance of this title ever seeing the light of day has always been slim-to-none.
Today, a demo reel was released to showcase the changes that take place to separate Mercs 2 to Mercs 3. While the demo reel isn’t generally meant for the public’s eye and is barely finished, it definitely doesn’t show anything worth getting excited about. In my opinion, it looks as though Mercs 3 would have been as sorely disappointing as the second installment.
I’ll let you be the judge though — check out the trailer here.
Looks fun actually. Loved Mercenaries and also bought the 2nd too (although I haven’t barely touched due to many other games that kept me busy). This one seemed like a step in the right direction, kinda’ like Just Cause 2, although I’m sure JC2 spoiled me with lots of stuns, parachutes, bangs, booms, explosions and all that jazz. Still a shame to see such a great studios go to waste. Some of the best games the past generation were Battlefront by these guys and TimeSplitters by Free Radical. Both of them, rest in peace.
Looked good. I don’t know how they managed to fuck up and make Mercenaries 2 worse than Mercenaries. They went from making a great game to a horrid game, and they were declining up until they were shut down.
Looked awesome to me. Loved both installments of mercenaries. More so the Mercs 2 for ps3. How could I even get a demo of this awesome unfinished game?!?!?!?!
