After the last release of Mortal Kombat featuring the Joker and other various DC Comic characters, the franchise took an odd turn away from the M-Rating that fans of known and love. Thankfully, with the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat 9, the development team looks to go back to its roots in offering a completely off the wall M-Rated experience that fans are used to.
Speaking in the latest issue of EGM, series creator Ed Boon states, “We’re going to be as M-rated as we’ve ever been.
“Mortal Kombat is known for and associated with violence, and we’re definitely going back to that. The developers are actually modelling the insides of each character, from brains to bowels. When you cut somebody in half, rip their arms off, or otherwise dismember them you will see their realistically rendered insides as they come spilling out of their body. Eyes are gauged from their sockets, faces are disfigured, and limbs are torn asunder.”
Sounds exactly like my kind of Mortal Kombat. As many of you saw at E3 last month, MK9 is shaping up to be something we can all enjoy within the series once more.
I want to see if the damage is there even for the “winning” character. Haha, Imagine Scorpion missing an eye while doing Sub Zero a fatality xD
Can’t wait to see the game’s gore.
YaY finally a proper use of my username
