A 2024 Ubisoft action adventure game that was just added to the PS Plus Extra catalog is already polarizing PS5 players. Despite being nominated for over a dozen awards, Star Wars Outlaws‘ launch didn’t go according to plan, and now, it has the PS Plus community split.

Back in 2024, Star Wars Outlaws launched to a Metacritic average of 75/100 and sold below Ubisoft’s expectations. Reviewers criticized the game’s stealth and repetitiveness, and it certainly didn’t help that it launched with technical issues.

Yesterday, Star Wars Outlaws joined the PS Plus catalog, and it seems that the game is just as polarizing as it was back in 2024.

In a popular thread on the PS Plus subreddit, a user opined that Star Wars Outlaws “didn’t deserve the hate it got.” Over 200 comments followed, with players both arguing for and against the assessment.

“You’re playing the version of the game after they had all of the updates, and you didn’t pay for it at full price,” reads a top comment. “I played at lunch and paid full price and surprisingly didn’t have any game-breaking bugs,” another player responded.

Even folks who are playing it at no additional cost seem split.

“The story was bad at worst, completely uninteresting at best,” a player wrote. “The gameplay was meh, a stealth game that seemed like it wanted to be an action game, but ends up that neither part is good.”

“Played a couple of hours. Controls/interface seem a little corny for combat and climbing. Almost clunky,” another wrote. “I’ll go back to it tomorrow, but to be honest, it’s been f****** boring.”

“It’s a very fun game for everybody, and if you are Star Wars fans, IMO you should not miss it at all,” one user opined.
