Fans of survival games with cute aliens can look forward to downloading Frozen Way’s latest game on PlayStation. Honeycomb: The World Beyond has been released on PS5, bringing sci-fi survival, base building, exploration, and alien DNA splicing to the mysterious planet Sota7.

The first-person game sees players take on the role of Hennessy, a bioengineer exploring an alien world. Working for the EON Corp, Hennessy will have to scan extraterrestrial life and collect resources on Sota7. On their journey, players will lead expeditions, mine resources, build bases, and use their bioengineering skills to survive the mission.

In Honeycomb, players can use bioengineering to synthesize unique plant properties and manipulate animal DNA to trigger physical changes. The game’s trailer also reveals that Hennessy can use a hoverboard to scout the lands much faster. Sota7 is filled with cute but also harmful creatures, all existing in different biospheres. Using its resources, Hennessy can also build major bases that act as places of respite and research.

Fans have already noticed the similarities it has with other atmospheric survival games like Subnautica. Instead of exploring a vast alien ocean, most of Honeycomb will have players explore a planet on land. However, there are some interesting locations to explore, such as vibrant jungles, vast fields, and a mysterious volcano.

Those looking to explore its flora and fauna can look forward to meeting new alien species such as the Thessalika Nango, Skittertails, Azurite Lonebids, and more.
