Nomura Securities predicts Metal Gear Solid 5 for 2014

Nomura Securities, a Japanese investment analysis company, expects Konami to release Metal Gear Solid 5 within the 2014 fiscal year, which spans April 2013 to May 2014.

Nomura’s outlook on the Metal Gear Solid franchise’s next title comes from their prediction that Konami’s operating earnings will increase 24% during the 2013 fiscal year, putting them in a very good position to release the next entry in the series by the following year. The securities company also expects Konami’s operating earnings to continue to increase by 15% during the 2014 fiscal year.

These positive predictions from Nomura come from Konami’s strong social gaming performance, despite their rather low game software sales.

  1. I really hope this isn’t just a rumor. I loved MGS4 despite never playing a MG game before that. I really felt stupid for waiting so long to get into the series and hope it will continue for years to come.
