As Halloween approaches, an iconic character from the 2026 blockbuster Obsession has made its way into a video game. However, fans focused on an emote inspired by Inde Navarrette’s character, which many fans discussed on X.
Fortnite posted a video introducing Navarrette’s character, Nikki Freeman, as part of its Fortnitemares lineup for this year. The video features a montage of the character and Nikki’s reverse walk, which caught fans’ attention for its unusual animation. This prompted them to poke fun at the emote on X.
X user @Caltarcular123 wrote, “She moving like a GTA NPC,” while @SnapToChaos added, “Not the reverse walk being referenced.” @aixyno wrote, “LMFAO?”
Other players, however, liked the emote. @walkoffame01 commented, “I like her moon walk,” while @CerezaSunshyne added on X, “I wanted the backward emote so bad.”
Nikki’s Fortnite debut comes with several details worth noting
Nikki Freeman’s Fortnite debut includes more than just the iconic reverse walk emote. One important detail worth noting is the character’s outfit in the trailer. Navarrette’s in-game character wears the iconic red zebra-print top and denim shorts, featuring a sad face. The character also has another skin with a blood-splatter look. The character also wields a melee tool resembling the broken bottle from the film, which functions as a pickaxe. Moreover, Nikki’s character includes the “No No No…” card emote, inspired by the restaurant scene in the movie. Her addition to Fortnite also brings the One Wish Willow back bling. Nikki’s outfits are age-restricted, so that younger players may see a generic character model instead.
Obsession was released in the United States on May 15, 2026, to mostly positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Strong responses from critics and fans helped the supernatural horror film gross a worldwide total of $520 million. The Obsession x Fortnite crossover launched on October 21, 2026, and can be purchased directly through the in-game Fortnite Item Shop using V-Bucks.
