Atlus has been no stranger to the PlayStation platform with games such as Persona 3 and Persona 4 ranking to be some of the best RPGs on the PlayStation 2. While the games have received their fair share of criticism, the mature stories coupled with the dating simulations and dungeon crawling has allowed the series to gain an unwavering fan base that has kept on growing. With Demon’s Souls being a sleeper hit for the PlayStation 3, it’d only be natural for Atlus to keep producing games that work. Katsura Hashino, director and producer of Persona 3 and 4 has said to Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation:

“We are preparing to start work on the next Persona. I want to add things that are being expected of the series. I also want to change things that can be changed within those boundaries.”

Color me excited as I can’t wait to see and play another game apart of the Persona franchise. No platform has been announced, but odds are Persona 5 will finally land on the PlayStation 3.

  1. I’m probably the biggest Persona/Megamit Tensei/Atlus fanboy on this site.

    I cannot wait!!!

  2. I really always wanted to try Persona, but they’ve been on PSP and PS2. I’m REALLY hoping for a Persona on PS3.

  3. I’ve heard some really good things about the Persona saga, although I can’t really say I’ve tried it myself. I’ll give it a go if there’s a demo.

  4. awesome! finally persona comes to the PS3

  5. @Loki, well I would say that it would be a tie between you and Meken Shonitin, but he hasn’t really posted much. He finally got another laptop so he said he’ll try to be more active soon. In any case, I wonder if I would be able to jump into P5 without playing the others first.

  6. Persona 3 and Persona 4 are linked only by the name, summons (so to speak), and basic mechanics. There’s no over arcing story for the games or characters that return from one installment to the next. So one should be able to play P5 without ever needing to know what happened in the previous games.

  7. Personas on PS3 were great,it’s just hard to find for a reasonable price.I like the storyline and demons/ summons aspect of it..

  8. @ Kevin Sax

Actually there is on P3 and P4. It’s more of like a cameo rather than being directly part of the story. There’s a lot of reference on P4 pertaining to the place and people in the Persona 3 universe.

I’m not sure if they’re going to do that in Persona 5, but there’s still a very important question that needs an answer on Persona 3 and Persona 4 about the Main Character of Persona 3.

I’ve heard quite a few good things for this series and as an RPG fan, it saddens me to say I’ve never even played a Persona game. Maybe if this one gets great reviews and that there’s nothing else at the time of release, I’ll finally go ahead and give it a try. I love that Atlus really creates some of the most unique games on the market or is at least tied to them in some way. Odin Sphere, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Demon’s Souls and I believe Tactics Ogre: The Knights of Lodis for the GBA which was by them as well. I will make sure to keep an eye on this one and how it comes along.

  10. @Loki I blame you for everything (Persona related that is), I just drop a crap load on the whole Persona series (excluding the psp remake). With that being said, can’t wait for this game.

  11. @imlastboss: huh? there is already a persona on the PS3???

  12. I can’t wait for Persona 5. I would buy a ps3 just for that.

  13. never played any but sounds interesting. have to see some gameplay

  14. i thinks its better if they make the latest one in both ps2 and ps3 coz as everyone know that ps3 is wayyyy too expensive for a person like me to afford! *sigh* cross your finger =P

  15. From what I’ve gathered, and I know searching for ‘persona 5’ on google isn’t very substantial evidence, I’ve a little idea of what platform it’d be on. I’m hoping PS2 or PSP, since I bought a PSP just for P3P. Any who haven’t played, I suggest going out and getting at least a PS2 to try both P4 and P3:FES. I bought P4 first, then P3:FES, then P3P. All very good, I recommend them unconditionally. PLEASE ATLUS, DON’T SWITCH TO THE NEWER GENERATION OF CONSULS! I’LL DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
