Konami‘s new trailer has several minutes of Silent Hill: Townfall gameplay. This comes ahead of its release later this year on PC and PS5. The upcoming game comes after last year’s Silent Hill f, which was the first new installment in the franchise in over a decade. The iconic horror franchise’s comeback was kick-started in 2024 with the remake of Silent Hill 2, and has since enjoyed new entries every year.

The latest gameplay video, captured on PS5 Pro, shows off the installment’s new take on the franchise. Unlike previous entries, Townfall will be played from a first-person perspective. The only other entry that had a first-person view was Silent Hill: The Short Message, a short, free game that was released two years ago. The upcoming game takes place in Scotland, away from the eponymous town in the United States. The game is launching a few months after a feature film adaptation of Silent Hill 2 was released to negative reviews.

Check out the Silent Hill: Townfall gameplay trailer below:

What to expect from Silent Hill: Townfall

In Silent Hill: Townfall, players take on the role of Simon Ordell after he wakes up in St. Amelia, Scotland, in 1996. As the gameplay video shows, players will have to rely on their handheld CRTV device to gather clues about the town and Simon’s past. The video shows Simon exploring the town, which is engulfed in the franchise’s signature mist.

Staying true to the series’ history, Townfall will also be a survival-horror game where players have to keep track of several resources. In the gameplay video, the main character is shown using the CRTV to detect and evade the town’s monsters. It also features melee combat, and Simon is shown entering the “Otherworld” version of St. Amelia, which has a permanent red glow and ominous atmosphere.

Silent Hill: Townfall releases on September 24, 2026, on PC and PlayStation 5. It is being developed by Screen Burn Interactive, the team that previously made Stories Untold and Observation.
