Sony and Microsoft have both been making splashes with their motion control technology during the last several gaming events. However, neither of these technologies will matter if neither has proper development support. While Microsoft is focusing on bringing in the more casual crowd, Sony has focused more on integrating the casual with the hardcore through motion design. Despite the gimmick label that some are giving these devices, developers are taking notice. One developer includes Shingo Takatsuka, creator of the PES franchise.

In a recent interview with IGN, Takatsuka revealed that his development team is very excited with the potential that the PlayStation 3 wand has to offer. He even goes as far as confirming that they’re trying to find ways to implement this technology into future projects.

“Until 2009, we believed that all platforms should have the same drivers and features. Although this is not the case, since there are specific drivers for each platform with Natal on Xbox 360 and the motion sensor PlayStation 3. I can not say much, but I can say that we are thinking about the integration of devices in our game very aggressively. “

I think it’s great that developers are taking notice. Motion technology may not be something I’m sold on or something that I plan on taking complete advantage of, but if it helps increase gaming’s popularity in the mainstream society, then I’m all for it.

get the damn game to play well like it used to first, Konami ! It sucks, but not because of the controls, but because you can’t seem to make a competent game since it went “next-gen” !
