Among the titles revealed during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, one game has caught the attention of fans who miss Snowboard Supercross. Developer Wabisabi Design’s HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate looks tailor-made for those who grew up playing the PlayStation 2 classic.
HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, along with Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The game is set for an early 2027 release and pays homage to Y2K extreme sports games. It is described as a love letter to the SSX franchise.
Mexican developer Wabisabi Design, Inc. first unveiled the game at last year’s Play Acclaim Showcase. In addition to SSX, the game draws inspiration from other extreme sports titles, including Jet Grind Radio. It offers a modern take on the arcade-style snowboarding games that gained popularity around the turn of the century.

HYPERyuki brings SSX-style tricks, multiplayer and wild riders to PS5
HYPERyuki features over-the-top courses and a colorful roster of riders to choose from. Speed and tricks are at the heart of the gameplay, with players pulling off death-defying stunts to rack up points as they race down the slopes. Players can also chain together combos and carve their way through courses inspired by real-world locations.

HYPERyuki features a variety of game modes, each offering a distinct experience. Challenge mode focuses on completing objectives and setting high scores, delivering high-intensity gameplay.
Races, meanwhile, let players use tricks and stunts to fill their speed meter and gain an edge. The game also features a Shred mode, where players can “bomb the slopes as a sentient, snowboarding taco.”
For players who want a more relaxing experience, the Chill feature boasts an Endless mode to enjoy the beautiful views that each track offers. The multiplayer setting allows for online and in-person connectivity. It boasts a split-screen and can support up to seven players at a time.
