PS5 and PS4 are getting a surprise hit adventure game that fans of classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill fans will love. Developed by Vincent Adinolfi and published by DreadXP, Heartworm first released on Steam in 2025, where it received a “Very Positive” rating from players. The game’s PlayStation release comes just in time for Halloween.

Heartworm will launch on the PS5 and PS4 on October 1, 2026. The game will also launch for Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles.

Heartworm tells the story of Sam, who is reeling from the death of her grandfather. She stumbles upon a mysterious internet forum and falls down a rabbit hole in an attempt to reunite with him “on the other side.” Her quest leads her to a house on a mountain that’s “supposedly supernatural.”

“Pass through the threshold and enter a world born of memories,” an official overview reads. “Defend yourself with a camera while solving death’s mysteries in a reverent evolution of 90s survival horror, integrating both fixed cameras and over-the-shoulder perspectives.”

Heartworm offers 4-6 hours of gameplay with multiple endings.

Heartworm’s PS5 price has not been announced yet. The game’s PS Store page will go live in due course.
