
PS5 is getting a promising new open-world action game led by a former Xbox Game Studios developer and industry veteran. Described as a “genre-defining” driving action experience, Clutch is brought to us by Maverick Games, a studio founded by Forza Horizon creative director Mike Brown.

Clutch is a cinematic game that promises “immersive narrative blending pro circuit racing with action-packed underground race-and-chase sandbox gameplay.”

Clutch will tell the story of two racers who are siblings, competing in a major racing event.
“Maverick has assembled a dream team of car lovers and driving fans with decades of experience building genre-defining open-world racing games,“ Brown said in a press release. “Our mission from day one is for Clutch to push the genre into a new era, innovate through new types of open-world sandbox gameplay, and deliver a generational leap on the staples of why we love driving games.”
Clutch is headed to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Spring 2027. We’ll learn more about the game’s story and world on June 5 at the Summer Game Fest 2026. The event will run until June 8.
