A remake of a popular PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 adventure game may have a release date, and it’s sooner than many thought.
What PS5 remake might be out in July?
According to a new report from Insider Gaming, the remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag may be out in July 9, 2026. The report notes that Ubisoft had originally planned to reveal the game and its release date today, but that it’s been postponed until next week.
Reportedly, a 30-minute presentation has been sent to select media and content creators, with Insider Gaming reporting that the game features reworked content and updates, and, despite some rumors, will not feature RPG elements, but be a dedicated remake.
Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, one of the most beloved entries in the game’s history, wiill be getting a remake last month. The new game, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, wasn’t talked about much in Ubisoft’s announcement, but they did share a new piece of concept art for the remake.
While nothing about the game is known yet, we do have an idea of what to expect if previous reports are true. Leaks last year suggested that Black Flag: Resynced would be a huge remake and include not only visual upgrades, but gameplay ones that would bring the game in-line with something like the more recent Assassin’s Creed titles.
Rumors suggest that not only will new story content be added, but that some previous sections from the game have been removed in the new game. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see more of the game before we know for sure.
