The former PlayStation 3 exclusive title, Quantum Theory, was originally coined as the “Gears of War” killer and was going to offer PlayStation fans the opportunity to dig into a game that provided a similar experience. However, after the critical bashing the game received from early previews, it was quickly announced as a multiplatform title more than likely in order to increase sales.

Since that time, Quantum Theory has been delayed once and as of yesterday is officially delayed once more. According to Tecmo Koei America, the game is being pushed into the Summer of this year when it was previously expected to launch in roughly June.

“Quantum Theory has been pushed back until Summer 2010. There isn’t a solid release date just yet, but keep your eyes peeled for an announcement soon.”

I’d love to wave the “Who cars?” flag right about now, but it would just be pretty pointless as I’m sure most of you have started to lose any type of anticipation for the game. Regardless of if you care or not, at least you now know that you won’t be able to pick this one up until you’re busy with either Madden or some other August release that’s very well put together.

  1. LOL, is QT (not quicktrip…….) pulling an Alan Wake/MGS4???

seems like it. but does anyone even really anticipating QT? looks pretty ghetto to me

  2. I kinda hope it never gets released. The game looks like trash. No way a garbage game like that could ever kill the awesomeness that is Gears 2. It’s hardly even a replacement for PS3 owners, and 360 owners won’t buy it because again, we have Gears 2, why buy an inferior game? It’ll be how it was with Prototype and inFAMOUS or Dante’s Inferno and God of War III.

  3. I’m going out on a limb to suggest this, but I think the fact this is now a multiplat is what’s making it take longer to release. Now they have to make sure the former exclusive game runs on the same level for both consoles.

The more negative stuff I hear about QT, the more I’ll be keeping it’s adoption papers at bay. Unless QT can WOW us if and when it ever comes out, I think there’s just too much risk in even associating with this “now multi-platted”, “problem-child”.

  4. @taus90: im not sure about the multiplat thing…i mean perhaps its Koei and their lack of knowledge of anything besides the Warriors franchise? theyre trying to make this actually good and are having trouble making a shooter?

    idk, just a thought

“I’d love to wave the “Who cars?” flag right about now”

Are you trying to say “Who Cares?

Quantum Theory is pretty low in terms of popularity and notice. I don’t really care or even took notice on whether it is going to be released. As for Gears of War Killer, seriously who really cares I play my Uncharted 2 any day.

  6. This game is turning out to be another haze at this rate. Which is a shame because it had potential and it may still have but these delays are going to hurt it even if it is now multiplatform

  7. @ Moocows111111 you’re absolutly right, UC2 is already better than Gow@ in every possible way, so we don’t need Qt to prove anything, but I’m not into third person shooters anyways.
