Red Dead Redemption gallops away with AIAS Awards

As expected, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption performed very well at the recently wrapped up AIAS Awards show. For those of you unaware, the AIAS is like the Oscars of video game awards and anyone who wins one of these bad boys should definitely feel like they’ve achieved something special.

Surprisingly, the western round-up did not win Game of the Year, but in fact lost that award to BioWare’s Mass Effect 2. This was probably the biggest surprise of the night as RDR had been sweeping through the Game of the Year awards from countless publications up until this brick wall. With that said, Mass Effect 2 was a ridiculously good title last year and deserves to be recognized for its efforts.

Sony’s PlayStation 3 also did fairly well overall with Heavy Rain, God of War III and God of War: Ghost of Sparta all taking home awards as well.
