Today, Capcom has finally announced Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City while including a myriad of details for fans of the franchise to get excited about. However, it should be noted that this edition of Resident Evil is not being developed by Capcom, but instead, Slant Six Games, who is most infamously known for SOCOM: Confrontation on the PlayStation 3. To be honest, Slant Six should have most gamers worried about the quality of this title already as Confrontation was unarguably the worst SOCOM title to date and actually had hardcore fans of the franchise jumping ship (not good).
According to the Press Release, RE: Operation Raccoon City takes gamers back to the height of the T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City in the fall of 1998. This episode roughly takes place somewhere alongside Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The entire experience is delivered through a squad-based shooter style that allows for online co-op teamwork which means each gamer will take over a Security Services (U.S.S.) soldier.
The main objective of the title is to hide any evidence that Umbrella Corp may have something to do with the breakout of the virus whatsoever. Fans and enthusiasts of the franchise can also expect to revisit iconic locations and characters from Raccoon city such as Raccoon Police Department and rookie cop, Leon S. Kennedy.
We’re sure more information will be made available once a magazine feature is released.

I would like at least one new console RE where I don’t have to escort AI around constantly
