Save $20 if you buy MLB 12 The Show for both PS3 and PS Vita

A highly touted feature for this year’s edition of Sony’s highly-rated Major League Baseball game is that you can save your Franchise, Season, and/or Road to the Show progress from your PS3 to the cloud to continue playing on your PS Vita, and vice versa. Of course, that was an expensive proposition, as the PS3 and Vita versions retail for $60 and $40, respectively.

Fortunately, someone at Sony had a flash of generosity and made it much easier to buy both versions of the game. If you buy MLB 12 The Show for PS3 and Vita in the same transaction at any major retailer, you’ll save $20 instantly. Cool! Hopefully we see this in the future with other cross-play games that can share progress between versions, such as the upcoming Warrior’s Lair (formerly Ruin).

MLB 12 The Show hits store shelves tomorrow, March 6th.

  1. Sweet. I was literally thinking about this sort of thing earlier today. That some sort of deal should be offered for those that have a Vita and want to have both the Vita and PS3 version of a cross playable game. I was thinking it should cost $70-80 (or the Vita version price should be 50% off at the very least) and it seems that Sony was ahead of me (which is a very good sign that they are heading in the right direction). As you said, hopefully this trend will continue and get better as such games are released in the near future. This way devs will still be able to make a profit but not by causing us the gamers grief.
