Konami has announced a brand new and gorgeous action-adventure PlayStation 5 game. The title is currently in development with no official release date.
Rhapsody in Scarlet is an upcoming magick-themed action title revealed by Konami. It will feature high octane beast-and-magick combos, reports Gematsu.
The official description for the game reads, “Set in the jazz-filled streets of 1920s New York, magus Ellie Myers embarks on a journey to confront a threat that could shake the world.”
What can players expect from Rhapsody in Scarlet?
Rhapsody in Scarlet will focus on the main protagonist, Ellie Myers. She’s a magus with a deep love for jazz but gets suddenly transported by a mysterious man to a place known as a sanctuary. The story will then uncover a world-changing conspiracy, with danger and madness lurking in the darkness.
Ellie encounters Ilya Jones, leader of the Seekers, an elite organization of magi. Although the two keep clashing due to opposing personalities, they slowly form a strong bond while investigating the schemes of the mysterious mafia.
Their investigation eventually leads into the city’s secrets, revealing a fateful battle that threatens the very balance of the world. With her extraordinary powers, the magus will try to stop the threat before it unleashes itself.
Rhapsody in Scarlet’s combat will feature thrilling combos through the bond between magus and beast. Players will get to fight alongside powerful beasts. Plus, they can string together spectacular combo attacks fueled by magick.
The action adventure game will also enable players to mix and match an expansive arsenal of abilities. During combat, they can stun the enemies using spectacular close-range and long-range attacks.
As for the voice cast, Cherami Leigh will portray Ellie Myers in English. Japanese version has Akari Kitou as the voice actor. Ilya Jones will be voiced by Hannah Grace in English and Saori Oonishi in Japanese
Rhapsody in Scarlet has yet to receive an official release window. It’s in development for PS5 alongside Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
