A surprising new PS5 console-exclusive action RPG has been announced, with a release date set within the next few months. Developed by Glass Head Dolls and published by Wings, Prison of Husks is a unique soulslike inspired by classic PlayStation games.

PS5 RPG Prison of Husks will please PS2 fans

With a presentation reminiscent of PS2-era games, Prison of Husks takes players to the afterlife, where they must find answers to why they’re there and look for their loved ones.

“Prison of Husks is a nostalgic soulslike set in a painted afterlife,” an official description reads. “You awaken in Lysiane, a heavenly afterlife painted by the hand of a pure heart. Your soul has found its new vessel here, but all that is left around you is a haunting desolate landscape now crumbling beneath your feet. What put its painter to rest? Where is your love? She depends on you. Seek your beloved.”

Prison of Husks’ PS Store page is live, where players can add the game to their wishlists. Price and preorder information have not been shared yet.

Prison of Husks will release for the PS5 and PC on January 27, 2027. We’ll update our readers when we have more information.
