Uncharted 2: Among Thieves destroys competition at AIA Awards

In a non-surprising, non-turn of events, Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed title Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has once again swept an awards show with the most categories won. If you’re Naughty Dog, you’re probably still in awe at the recognition your title is receiving from pretty much every Award ceremony known to the industry — however, if you’re a fan, you’re probably getting a little used to hearing about the game’s success.

The only potential downfall of the success that has come on the heels of Nathan Drake’s latest outing is the follow up sequel that has a lot to live up to. With a development team that has a strong history like Naughty Dog though, it’s probably safe to say that the third installment will be as good, if not better, than the first two.

We’ve included all of the categories and winners below.

  1. That was crazy, and ND definitely deserves it.

I would have been happier if Demon’s Souls grabs the RPG genre. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Naughty Dog really swept those awards up I mean Uncharted 2 was an incredible game all around and definitely deserves it.

  3. As much as Naughty Dog deserves these awards, it kind of scares me how it’ll create an extremely high standard for them to live up to once Uncharted 3 is released. But if it somehow surpasses these expectations… oh man, we’re going to have one hell of a game on our hands.

  4. They deserve it, Simple as that. The game is phenomenal.

  5. No surprises here. Absolutely phenomenal.

  6. mutual feeling VofEscaflowne about UC3, and I am so proud of UC2 and PS3. 2009 was a year for many excellent title put a PS3 exclusive came out on top. now GOW 3 ur turn

  7. 2009 was truly a year of PS3, even 2010 looks the same, Heavy rain and MAG have already rocked the industry, and so will upcoming GOW 3, Modnation Racer, GT5 all worthy game of the year contenders, they just have to beat one title ME2

  8. It really is a great game. =)

  9. oh my gawwwwwwhhhdd!! why does the demand for this game have to be so high???

but its no surprise that it once again dominated the GOTY awards…all except for gametrailer’s stupid asses :\

  10. Deserves it, although I’m impressed to see Farmville there lol

  11. Farmville? :/

Yay for Flower and Batman! Those games, as well as Uncharted 2, really deserve the recognition they’re getting.

  12. yeah! and U2 just keeps taking the glory ๐Ÿ™‚ hell ya! im glad there getting the recognition they deserved, as soon as i saw the E3 trailer for U2, i said ” GOTY”

  13. Hahaha! Farmville . . . anyways, not shocking, considering how acclaimed Uncharted 2 is. It seemed that not only did Uncharted 2 do very well, but there was very little variety in the winners: Uncharted 2, Arkham Asylum, Modern Warfare 2, and Scribblenauts. The only things that differed were in the specific genres.

    Farmville for GOTY.

  14. Mmmmmh the single campaign is outstanding and while the MP is fun, it has it’s share of problems.

    All in all, totally deserved.

  15. Rightfully so. Amazing game.

  16. Knew it!!!

  17. ah yes…i forgot about farmville….its quite odd to such that game win an award…..i remember playing that for about a week or so…..im so ashamed ๐Ÿ™

  18. Holy Crap, Uncharted 2 just whipped the crap out of pretty much everything.

  19. kinda tired of hearing awards but gratz ND

  20. Good to see the generic online game play of MW2 gets rewarded..not.

U2 deserved everything and then some. Also good to see Mark Hamil rewarded for his awesome work with Batman AA

  21. Good to see Uncharted getting the success it deserves and great tosee batman up their as well.

  22. Uncharted 2 = Beast of the Year!!!!!! (Which is the new word now in my vocabulary that means better then GOTY.)
Uncharted deserves all of the hype and sales it gets because that game is so damn awesome.

  23. “Uncharted 2 = Beast of the Year!!!!!! (Which is the new word now in my vocabulary that means better then GOTY.)
Uncharted deserves all of the hype and sales it gets because that game is so damn awesome.”

LOL maybe we should start using that ” Beast of the Year ” Phrase XD
Yeah but its true, Uncharted 2 really deserves all of those awards, I can’t even remember a game that has over 150 total awards, that is just insane.

  24. Its awesome to see that Uncharted 2 won so many awards especially the Game of the Year award. Uncharted 2 is a good game and definitely deserve to win a lot of awards.
