GameStop has been running a pre-order bonus for Heavy Rain which involved a piece of DLC entitled, The Taxidermist. This piece of content was expected to be downloadable upon release, however, it would appear as though that is no longer the plan.
According to the official GameStop game page, the DLC for Heavy Rain has been pushed back to March 4th due to a delay from the publisher (Sony).
Reserve Heavy Rain and receive a code to download first chapter of Heavy Rain Chronicles, The Taxidermist. This prequel follows Madison Page as she investigates her first serial killer. Due to a delay by the publisher, this content will not be available for download until Thursday, March 4, 2010. Available online and in-store while supplies last.
While this is unfortunate, I can assure you that it isn’t anything to get worked up about. Considering what Heavy Rain offers you through the disc-based campaign alone, you’ll have your hands tied with that until the content is ready to download anyways. So, just enjoy tracking down the Origami Killer and prepare for a bonus at the end of your hard fought investigation.
ya i doubt anybody will be done with heavy rain by then anyway (even if you did beat it once you know your going to play it again 😉 )
I think that is a good idea. Have the game played the way it was meant to be played at first without the extra content then give the content to them after they have beaten the original story.
Oh well. Im fine with eth game itself. TUESDAY hurry up already im need the game badly lol!!!
It is only a week so I don’t mind. My main attention is obviously on the main game anyway.
Does anyone know the difference between the Editors edition and the regular?
I agree with SonyJunkie. Besides, this game has so much content, it;s so epic. You’ll probably play through it numerous times to see what decisions affect what etc.
oh its going to take a long time to finish this, which has multiple endings with different character
Not really disappointed and the article itself points out the fact why it isn’t a big deal. I never pre-ordered at Gamestop (well EB here and I don’t even know if they’re running that promotion in Canada) but I am getting it at a discounted price most likely. I will use that money I save towards the DLC 😉 Cannot wait to pick up the game on February 23rd!
i agree with basically everyone on this article: we surely wont be done with until about the time the DLC comes out…so long as i get a secure DLC code, im good
Will it be delayed in Europe as well?
what a damn shame 🙁 was looking forward to it, but i guess its not necessary since ill be busy with the game anyhow
Hahaha, I’m not used to having all of these comments under an article. It’s a shame the DLC was delated, but I’m sure the vanilla game will last awhile, so it’s probably no big deal.
Not really a big deal, I can see people playing through the original story multiple times
Awww this sucks, at least we still get the game Feb 23=/ leaves more time to play the story over and over until the DLC comes out.
I pre-ordered this a while back and not too worried about it, except that I probably won’t be able to play it right away due to BF:BC2 🙁
I dont mind the delay as I will be playing the hell out of the game before I consider the DLC.
This is probably for the better anyway. I never play DLC till I am done with the original game first, anyway. I have a few games with DLC that I never played because I haven’t beaten the regular game first.
Is the DLC a new part of the city or an add on to the storyline?
As to everyone who doesn’t know: this DLC, part of a series, is basically an added scene/prologue for one of the characters, Madison Paige. I can’t wait for this game on Tuesday. Happy hunting everyone!
Well like most games, the DLC doesn’t have much impact on a game anyways, but its nice to get em free to expand more gaming time XD Also getting Heavy rain is a good break from all of those shooters games XD
I think that it is good that Sony pushed back the DLC for Heavy Rain because they could improve on the content before they release it. The Heavy Rain game will keep people playing for a while, so there is no rush to release the DLC early.
