A pair of highly anticipated PS5 remakes of some of the original PlayStation’s most beloved adventure games officially have release dates.

What PS5 remakes are coming out?

In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, Cyan Worlds revealed the release dates for the remakes of Myst and Riven, two two of the biggest adventure games of the 1990s, which are set to return to PlayStation 5 and PS VR 2. Both games will release on May 19, 2026 and retail for $34.99 each, just a few weeks away to check out the new versions of the game.

In the blog post, Cyan Worlds’ development director Hannah Gamiel detailed some of the changes coming to both games. First and foremost, both games have some massive visual overhauls, including the support of ray tracing on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro. Frame rate will be limited to 30 FPS while ray-traced reflections are enabled, but for those who want to take in the beauty of the new games, it’s there.

The PlayStation 5 Pro version of the game will also have some enhanced features, including a higher graphical fidelity, better view distance, foliage, textures, and more. The game will also support both screens and PS VR2, with Cyan Worlds noting it brought some lessons from Firmament, a previous title of theirs that also supported VR, to help improve the playstyle of Myst and Riven.

Originally released in 1993, Myst sees players traveling to a mysterious island called Myst via a special book. The game then tasks players with solving puzzles to allow for more travel across the world. Upon its release, the game was a massive success, and is often cited as one of the most influential video games of all time. At its launch, the game sold more than six million copies, and was actually the best-selling PC game of all time for almost a decade.

The game’s sequel, Riven, released in 1997, and once again tasks players with diving back into the world of puzzles, and continues the original game’s story. Similar to Myst, Riven was a massive success, and became the best-selling game of 1997, although it didn’t reach the massive highs of Myst.
