An award-winning PS Plus day-one game from July 2025 has surprise-dropped an awesome free update that PS5 players should check out. Abiotic Factor‘s Cosmic Companions Update is available now, and PS Plus members can jump in at no additional cost.

Abiotic Factor’s Cosmic Companions update features “all-new chemistry system, new pet companionship, extraordinary pet evolutions, an anomalous Alpen Adventure, new weapons, tools, vehicles, furniture, and more.”

- Voices of the Void: Just across the range from Voussoir lay the Dunkeltaler Forest, home of the mysterious Alpen Signal Observatorium. To access this new portal world, explore the western waterways of the Hydroplant, where Dr. Newman noted some unusual perforation readings
- Pets 2.0: The pet system just got seriously enhanced, with a huge boost to your roster of potential friends and their abilities: feed them, farm them, tame them, mutate them, and enlist them as accomplices in your next adventure.
- Tameable Peccary: New advances in chemistry have enabled Peccary Taming! Once tamed, these loyal beasts will fight by your side, and certain variants will even produce harvestable resources on a semi-regular basis.
- Chemistry System: The Distillation Bench and the Chemistry Bench will now enable chemically-bound scientists to distill items into Distillations and then turn them into magnificent Concoctions, which can be created in three distinct types.
