A brand new, gorgeous PS5 action RPG is out today. Unfortunately, the game has been getting fairly divisive reviews now that it’s out on the PS Store.

The Relic: First Guardian is out today on PlayStation, but has been divisive

Project Cloud Games The Relic: First Guardian is out now on the PS Store. The game is a gorgeous action RPG that sees players exploring the realm of Arsilthus, taking on enemies and traveling through a semi-open world.

Unfortunately, the game seems to be getting some divisive reviews. On OpenCritic, the game has a score of 59, with just 7% of critics recommending the new title. IGN’s Jarrett Green calls the game a squandered bit of potential, noting it is “an energetic action game marred by its own shambolic state and broken in too many inexcusable ways.”

CGMagazine’s Marcus Kenneth called the gameplay “rough,” while GamingBolt’s Stuart Glover did enjoy the title, saying its “unpolished edges almost undermine the experience, but atmospheric exploration through a haunting world will pull you through.”

“Transformed into an apocalyptic wasteland by the destruction of the great relic, the once-prosperous realm of Arsilthus lies in ruins. Set in a dark and haunting atmosphere enriched by the tapestry of Korean folklore and ancient mythology, it falls upon you to mend this shattered land and honour the memories of those who came before you,” reads the game’s official description.
