An awaited and highly promising PlayStation 5 RPG from Konami has finally received a release window. The brand-new game is being developed by a Tokyo-based team at ILCA.

Announced earlier this year during the PlayStation State of Play, Konami’s Rev Noir will release in 2027 for PS5, alongside Xbox Series X|S and PC, reports Gematsu.

Currently in development, the project will focus on a calamity threatening the world and a boy eventually coming to the rescue while dealing with his personal struggles.

What can players expect from Rev Noir?

The official description for Rev Noir reads, “Since ancient times, the Determinant in the heavens has guided humanity through astral ordinances intended to preserve peace. Yet once again, the world stands on the brink of catastrophe, threatened by a deadly phenomenon known as Lightfall that brings death to all it touches. As the relentless Lightfall Season draws near, a boy named Asch encounters Fine and her guard, Diana, in a remote village.”

In the upcoming RPG, Asch will go on a quest, guided by an astral ordinance “to save many people”, to defeat the mysterious provitons. They are believed to be the source of the Lightfall. Asch will try to bring an end to this calamity. Together with Fine, the protagonist will make his best efforts to save the world.

As for the main characters, Asch is a quiet boy who joins Fine on the Cessation after encountering her for the first time. Fine is a young cleric and a wielder of the Rainbow Astria, a power said to bring cessation to the lightfall.

Other characters include Diana, an Astrian Order soldier of the Holy Capital Garrison. She accompanies Fine as her guard. Then, there’s Kross, who is a gunner of the Lysrian City Guards. He joins the mission after being assigned by his captain to be the guide for Fine and co.

Rev Noir will launch at some point in 2027 for PS5.
