PlayStation 5 owners looking for a new challenge can now dive into Let It Die Inferno for free via a newly released demo on the PlayStation Store.

Developed by Supertrick Games and published by GungHo Online Entertainment, the online action title serves as a follow-up to the cult classic 2016 hack and slash game Let It Die.

While the full game launched on the platform nearly a year ago, the new demo gives players a taste of its chaotic world. The demo features the Hell Gate, a mysterious chasm that reshapes itself every time players step into it.

It’s important to note that the demo doesn’t allow access to all the features and quests of Let It Die Inferno. Also, the save data cannot be carried over to the full version.

What have critics said about Let It Die Inferno?

Following its launch in December 2025, Let It Die Inferno hasn’t fared well with players as well as critics. Among PlayStation users, it currently holds a Global Player Rating of just 2.89 out of 5.

On OpenCritic, it currently holds a poor Top Critic Average of just 51 out of 100. Many reviewers have called out the gameplay flaws of this PS5 action title, including the use of generative AI, a weird spike in difficulty, and combat-related issues.

Junio Miyai of RPG Site wrote, “What would be a promising return to Let It Die is marred by absolutely disgusting generative AI usage.” Zubi Khan of CGMagazine admired it as a “more polished” sequel but mentioned that it “still suffers from an unfair difficulty spike that feels more punishing than rewarding.”

David Lovato of Cubed3 wrote that the combat is “frustrating and unfair instead of challenging, exploration and item collection are made negligible by timers and resets” alongside unwanted AI-based character enhancements. Johnny Hurricane of Gamers Heroes wrote, “The hardest of the hardcore will enjoy Let it Die: Inferno, but it might prove to be a hard sell for everyone else.”

The Let It Die Inferno demo is available now on the PlayStation Store for PS5.
