PS5 Pro players are criticizing Sony after it emerged that its new Prism Collection won’t support the pricey hardware. PS5 Pro-compatible console covers are few and far between, with the upgraded hardware mainly getting a few limited-edition covers since launch.

Players lament lack of PS5 Pro support when it comes to accessories

Revealed yesterday, the new Prism Collection looks stunning, but PS5 Pro players can only buy the DualSense controllers, as the covers only fit the PS5 Slim.

“I would love to have a matching Controller and Cover, but Sony again is punishing those who bought their premium product,” a player wrote on Reddit. “It’s honestly irritating now.” “Sony really hates their fans these days,” another PS5 Pro owner wrote. “No plate for Pro? No plates for the base disc PS5?”

While many agreed, quite a few players reasoned that despite high demand, PS5 Pros don’t sell enough to warrant selling covers specifically for the console.

“No company is going to commit to print millions of covers (because that’s the number they need to print) to not sell them,” a fellow Redditor opined. “The Pro just hasn’t sold the numbers to warrant accessories,” another player added. “If it was viable, they’d do it. It’s just plastic after all.”

Sony hasn’t revealed PS5 Pro sales numbers.
