Blacks Ops Update v1.06 Goes Live — Is it too late?

Early this morning, Treyarch released update v1.06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops without any indication as to what the update corrected or the purpose behind it. In fact, the sole description following the announcement of the update was simply, “Have a nice day.”

The update is being released on the heels of a lot of pressure being applied to Treyarch from the PlayStation 3 gaming community. Certain gamers known as the Gamer’s Voice have actually gone as far as reporting Activision UK to the Office of Fair Trading in the United Kingdom due to the game’s laundry list of issues since launch. While other games have seen online petitions started and forum disruption, this is the first time a group of gamers is actively trying to make a difference against one of the larger publishers in the industry.

It’s only a matter of time before we find out if patch v.1.06 improved upon the issues that Gamer’s Voice has expressed displeasure over or if it’s simply a band-aid to make things a bit better between the gaming community and Activision. Regardless, Activision’s decisions as of late in regards to its PlayStation community has caused irreparable damages to say the least.

  1. That is so retarded *facepalm*

I play on the PC and I don’t really have any major complaints with the game. Dunno what could be so bad about it. The CoD fanbase is so sad :/

  2. Well considering MW1 and 2 have now gotten hacked to hell thanks to the PS3 security fiasco all they have left really is BO. Anyway I am sure the people complaining are probably in the minority.

    • how often do you play BO? thats sadly all people do. if you kill them ur a hacker. if ur too high of a prestige, ur a hacker. if get a head shot ur aimbotting. people are poor sports on that game bro big time poor sports. i blame the giant amount of ten year olds.

  3. The hacks are the least of the problems. People are getting mad that they still get lag even though they have a 3 bar connection.
