Earlier this morning, the Official PlayStation Blog released the full box art and debut trailer for MLB 11: The Show. Though it was confirmed earlier in the week that Joe Mauer would be returning as The Show’s cover athlete, I didn’t expect Sony to also launch a brand new DualShock 3 controller to coincide with the game. While some may feel that Mauer is undeserving of a repeat cover performance, it shouldn’t really matter as we play the games, not the cases.
MLB 11: The Show will feature full PlayStation Move support, which should result in the best Move title to date bar-non (sorry Killzone 3). Obviously a game like The Show is exactly what Sony’s Move was built for. It should be quite easy to implement motion control into the game, but sadly, I think it will be something Sony is going to need to continually tweak in order to perform as intended. Furthermore, MLB 11: The Show is also going to support full 3D gameplay which isn’t too surprising since MLB 10 had a downloadable 3D demo as well.
