MotorStorm Sets Benchmark for 3D Gaming?

Sony’s MotorStorm Apocalypse launches in March 2011 only adding on to the ridiculous year of gaming that 2011 has to offer. The Game’s Director, Matt Southern, also believes that upon launch, MS:A is also going to set the benchmark for stereoscopic 3D gaming as well.

As someone who has played MS:A in 3D already, I can confirm that the game is visually impressive and immersive when it comes to the 3D technology aspect. Everything looks beautiful, especially collapsing building and exploding objects around you. However, I’m not too sure if I’d be willing to go out on that limb and give it the award for best 3D title to date as Killzone 3 has looked fantastic in 3D as well.

“We showed Skyline in stereoscopic 3D, and pretty much everyone agreed with me that it sets the benchmark for 3D gaming,” Southern said.

Southern also revealed that a MotorStorm demo is in the works for 2011, but wouldn’t give a firm release date for it. Regardless, all you race fans prepare to throw down some more cash come Spring 2011 and then prepare to cut lawns all summer because the Holiday spending isn’t going to be much kinder either.
