Gran Turismo 5: Longest intro ever!

I’m not sure what it is about Yamauchi and his desire to make sure everything takes a long time, but the man is possessed. First of all, we’re all well aware that Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for over 2,000 days. That means there has been five Super Bowl Champions, two Summer Olympics, and two Presidential Elections during the time of development.

Today, the introduction video for the retail release of Gran Turismo 5 was leaked and while this obviously means that Gran Turismo 5 is finally right around the corner, it also means we get to see how ridiculously long the introduction video is as well. Though your standard intro is roughly one to two minutes in length, Polyphony Digital felt that you need an intro length to match the development schedule.

The end result? An intro that is over SIX minutes long and most of it is boring factory work! Can’t wait to check it out? Then just scroll down a tad more. We’ve included it below.

I thought that intro was really well done. Can’t wait!

  2. It’s beautiful, and don’t complain about the factory intro where it just introduces the producers. Think of it as a movie, you generally wait 3-5 minutes watching the opening scenes where the directors and producers are listed. If you want to say that GT5 is the Avatar if Racing, then you need to have a good intro like this!
