Do you remember playing Dead or Alive 3 and 4 on your PlayStation console? Considering the exclusivity of the games to the Microsoft platform, I’m going to guess that you probably don’t. That’s alright though, because apparently the Dead or Alive franchise is making its way back to the PlayStation brand for its 5th installment.
According to the Official PlayStation Magazine in the United Kingdom, Dead or Alive 5 is currently in production for the PlayStation 3. This would mark the first iteration that will appear on a PlayStation machine since Dead or Alive 2 (which was published by Sony).
This would obviously be a smart business move by Tecmo considering the mass success that Tekken and Street Fighter had from releasing on more than one gaming platform. With Itagaki out of the way, it’s definitely opening up new doors for the company.
Funny how when Itagaki left things seem to be changing so much faster. >.> Was that guy really that great or was he just a pillar holding them back… now’s the time to wonder about that.
who cares dead or alive is a joke of a fighting game, shaq fu gets more repect than that game lol
what xero said
i dont give a damn about DOA…all its about now are those big ass bouncy breasts
/pathetic
if i newer heard of the series than its most likely no big deal
ooohhh….nice…I’ve been waiting for this game ever since I beat DOA4 on the 360(yes, I have a 360….and yes, I’m a gamer, not a fanboy)
I guess it only makes sense that this game also releases on the PS3 ‘cuz Tekken(which was supposed to be exclusive) also released on the 360(and a bunch of other games too that were supposed to be exclusive to the PS3)
I don’t know why some people want to hate on the DOA series. I always loved the gameplay system and have thought it to be fast and fluid. Of course, I have to agree the bouncing boobs are a bit ridiculous and that particular gimmick makes it difficult to take it seriously at times. 😛 As for DOA 5 being multiplatform, honestly I’d be more interested in an Ultimate edition of DOA 3. That one was always my favorite on the original Xbox. I’ve had a PS3 since launch and have dreamed of DOA3 with current gen graphics and online play. I just hope that it doesn’t have to stay a dream. 🙂
