Last year, MLB 09: The Show set a bar pretty high for sports franchises when it came to the authenticity of baseball and the reproduction of that through a video game console. Not only was it a visual marvel, but the game mechanics all flowed well and provided the experience that many users had been missing since the days of MVP 2005.
Now, we’re a full year later and just around the corner is MLB 10: The Show. This year’s iteration continues the tradition of placing key players in baseball on its front cover. While last year featured a MVP player, this year does the same with Minnesota Twins player, Joe Mauer.
We’ve included the cover below and hopefully it’s as eye catching in real life as it is on the screen. Also feel free to check out our MLB 10: The Show screenshots here.

I love Joe Mauer and think he’s a fantastic player, but… I’m having a hard time thinking of a more boring cover athlete. Couldn’t they have thrown a sack of cash at Pujols?
Uhhhh, what about that guy…you know back to back CYs, maybe….but not Mauer
