Ninja Theory to create “one of the greatest” DMC games to date

Capcom and Ninja Theory have been receiving a lot of hate as of late due to the recent changes being made to everyone’s second favorite (Kratos) hack and slash champion, Dante, from Devil May Cry. Gone is the badassery that everyone is used to and in its place is a younger, more emo looking Dante that just hasn’t sat well with fans of the franchise.

Despite this backlash and constant complaining, Capcom has stood behind the developer’s decisions and is ultimately expecting the upcoming Devil May Cry to be “one of the greatest” DMC titles to date. According to an official Capcom employee on its forums, fans of the series have nothing to fear when it comes to Dante’s new looks and that gamers can still expect to kick as much ass as they did before.

“Capcom are heavily involved in the development of all its IP being worked upon by outside parties,” he commented.

“The exact same concerns were raised over Dead Rising 2 being made by Blue Castle games, which were totally ill founded, on what was an excellent game that ‘got’ everything that made the first game so amazing.”

“[Ninja Theory] are renowned for the quality of their production everything from motion capture, scripting, design and performance, areas perhaps areas that Capcom have been criticised over the past few years?”

“Capcom bring to the table years of experience with design of fighting systems, characters and the little things that make DMC, well DMC.”

“Combine all the best elements of Capcom and Ninja Theory you will have one of the greatest DMC titles ever created… and that people is what we’re working towards.”

“But we haven’t handed over the family silver to some strangers we are working with Ninja Theory on this together. We believe that by going down this route we can breathe new life into the franchise and make a game that sits above DMC3 for this generation.”

Obviously seeing such a drastic makeover to an iconic character such as Dante is going to cause some controversy. After all, could you imagine if Nintendo decided to change the overall look of Mario? It would be a disaster. However, sometimes change can work out for the better and despite the majority of gamers disliking this change, I think people should hold out for the final product, because after all, sometimes change can surprise some people.

Mario doesn’t change? He is in like 500 games with like 1000 different suits and junk lol.

    • the story hasent changed either afte 30 years, “save the princes, again”

  2. The Blue Castle thing with Dead Rising 2 was unfounded because Dead Rising was never a classic, highly-regarded franchise.

I though Enslaved sucked, so I don’t have too high hopes for this.
