Pachter believes Mass Effect franchise is still coming

Earlier this year prior to the release of Mass Effect 2, the rumors started swirling that the franchise was going to make its way to the PlayStation 3. This made complete sense since Microsoft was no longer the publisher of the series due to the recent buyout of BioWare via Electronic Arts.

Though these rumors have been crushed several times in the past, they were reignited when code for a PlayStation 3 version were found embedded within the Xbox 360 format of the game. Though this lead to continued denial of the existence of a version for Sony’s console, Michael Pachter believes that the Mass Effect franchise will still make its way over.

Speaking on the latest edition of the Pach Attack!, Pachter states that he has “heard from Microsoft and I’ve actually heard from EA that we probably won’t see Mass Effect 1 ever on PS3.”

“I’m not sure that’s true of Mass Effect 2 and I’m certain it’s not true of Mass Effect 3, 4, 5 and 6. I think you’ll see a Mass Effect game and extension of the franchise on PS3.”

Of course, there is no foundation to Pachter’s opinion, he’s pretty much just talking as always, but he has been right before and we’re sure if he keeps throwing out guesses, he’ll eventually be right again.
