A former Xbox console exclusive shooter is finally breaking free. The game is heading to PlayStation 5 soon. Ghost Ship Publishing has announced that it’s bringing Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor to PS5 in October. The single-player survivor auto-shooter was released in 2025 on PC and Xbox after a year in early access.
The publisher has also released a new trailer showcasing its bombastic action. Unlike the original game, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor takes cues from Vampire Survivors, with a different camera view and more chaos.
What can PS5 owners expect from Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor?
In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, players can venture deep into the mines while fighting hordes of Hoxxes. After each round, picked-up resources can be used during fights to upgrade weapons. Since it’s an auto-shooter, players won’t have to worry about aiming and firing. Players only need to pay attention to positioning and picking up power-ups. Like the original game, it features a procedural system that generates unique levels every time.
The publisher also revealed the trailer for its upcoming expansion DLC, Knockout. It will include new weapons, the Sandblasted Corridors biome, a new mission type, and the Brawler class. It’s unclear whether the DLC will also come to PS5, as no release date was announced. The end of the DLC trailer screen didn’t mention PlayStation 5 among other platforms.
The game continues to receive frequent new updates. Elsewhere, the first game, Deep Rock Galactic, remains one of the best co-op games on the PS5. The first-person PvE game sees players mine for resources on alien planets and survive waves of enemies. Its upcoming seventh season will include a revised perk system, new cosmetics, new events, and more. The DRG universe continues to expand with new DLC and updates for all of its games.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will be released on PS5 on October 7, 2026. The game was previously available on PC, mobile, and Xbox.
