The PS5 and PS4 ports of a popular 2001 classic RPG are available now on the PS Store, marking its console debut. THQ Nordic‘s Gothic is already available on consoles as a remake, but the original version — Gothic Classic — has just been released on PS5 and PS4 for the first time.

PS5 and PS4 players can buy Gothic Classic for $29.99. Unfortunately, there’s no launch discount.

“War has been waged across the kingdom of Myrtana. Orcish hordes invaded human territory and the king of the land needed a lot of ore to forge enough weapons, should his army stand against this threat,” the plot reads. “Whoever breaks the law in these darkest of times is sentenced to serve in the giant penal colony of Khorinis, mining the so much needed ore.”

THQ Nordic has announced that Gothic II Complete Classic will also release on the PS5 and PS4 on September 29, 2026. Last but not least, Gothic III will release on November 24, completing the trilogy on consoles.

Gothic 1 Remake received mixed reviews from critics. The game’s PS5 version holds a Metacritic average of 69/100. Gothic Classic has so far earned a 4.91/5-star player rating on the PS Store.
