A June 2025 PS Plus Essential monthly free game is being delisted and will go offline permanently. As announced back in September 2025, NBA 2K25 (PS5, PS4) will no longer be available for purchase starting October 30, 2026, and its servers will be sunset on January 1, 2027.

PS Plus game NBA 2K25 will become unplayable both offline and online

Although we were given a year’s notice about NBA 2K25, this news still caused some commotion because the game was released just two years ago. Additionally, this isn’t simply a case of servers going offline because the single-player mode will also become unplayable.

For those who aren’t aware, the MyCareer campaign mode requires virtual currency for player upgrades. Since all online features and purchases are being disabled, the campaign will also be unplayable. That leaves little else to play offline, essentially making NBA 2K25 useless to own.

If you’re a trophy hunter and plan to unlock the Platinum trophy in NBA 2K25, this is your final chance. You have three months left to wrap things up. However, if you want to make any further purchases to aid your campaign, you only have until October 30.

Despite their short lifespans and often middling reviews, 2K‘s annual sports games continue to attract millions of players.
