PS5 Getting Long-Awaited New Games in Beloved Franchises – Report
New Uncharted and The Simpsons: Hit & Run PS5 games

A new report claims that new PS5 games in two popular, long-running franchises are in development. While Naughty Dog’s Uncharted is an open secret at this point, the rumored return of The Simpsons: Hit & Run has taken us by surprise. Developed by Radical Entertainment, the action-adventure game originally launched for the PS2 in 2003.

New Uncharted and The Simpsons: Hit & Run PS5 games would send fans over the moon

This tease comes from Video Games Chronicle journalist Jordan Middler, who has a pretty good track record. In a recent podcast reviewing last Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase, Middler not only claimed that a new Uncharted is on the way, but also that Activision is seriously tapping into its back catalog.

“Obviously, a new Uncharted is coming. It’s on the way,” Middler said. He added that, unlike Microsoft, which maintained some momentum with its tentpole franchises, Sony “left Uncharted at its peak and didn’t do a new one for a very long time.”

The last mainline Uncharted game was released a decade ago, so Middler has a point about Sony’s approach towards its major IPs.

In the same podcast, while discussing the new Spyro, Middler hinted that Activision is busy reviving its back catalog, including licensed games.

Towards the end of the video above, Middler says that he’s about to “hit and run” out of the podcast — a clear reference to The Simpsons: Hit & Run, which fans have been begging for for over two decades at this point.

As always, take all rumors with a grain of salt, but we have reason to believe that Middler’s sources are correct.
