PlayStation gamers can officially test out one of the year’s most anticipated roguelite sequels without spending a dime.
A free playable demo for Deadzone Rogue 2, the follow-up to the 2025 breakout action hit, is now live on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5.
The game allows players to “combine weapons, augments, and elements to forge devastating builds and blast through Monarch’s endless machines.” While sticking closely to the gameplay loop of the original game, Rogue 2 is set to come with a few simple additions that will enhance its gameplay.
These include new biomes for players to explore, new enemies to figure out, and new bosses to engage during each run.
The description of the game reads, “Monarch’s forces are relentless. Battle through hostile new environments overrun by biomechanical hordes, hunter patrols, and towering bosses. Each zone rewards quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and a healthy amount of firepower.”
What to expect from Deadzone Rogue 2’s co-op combat and build customization
Regarding customizations, Deadzone Rogue 2 promises players the ability to make “impossible builds.” There will be hundreds of augmentations, perks, 30+ elemental weapons, and items to choose from before each run.
This will allow gamers to build unique and customized builds that are suited to their playstyles. Players will also be encouraged to mix combat styles as they master the various abilities at their disposal. Every choice that they make will open up new opportunities for them, whether they choose to be fire berserkers or stealth-reliant assassins.
Each time a player dies, they are going to be rewarded with a few boosts for their next run. Players will have the option to slot in imprints and resonances, which will upgrade their loadout permanently.
The game boasts a solo-play campaign option for players. It also allows up to three-player co-op. Players are encouraged to coordinate strikes with their squads, regardless of the difficulty they choose. Players will have options that range from casual to nightmare.
