An incredible PS5 sequel to an adventure game is finally out on the PlayStation Store, receiving solid reactions from critics. The latest installment comes from developer Something We Made and publisher popagenda.

Toem 2, the second part of 2021’s BAFTA-winning cozy title, has released for PlayStation 5 owners via the PS Store.

It has already impressed most reviewers with an extended photography adventure and crucial additions that make it a worthy sequel. Toem 2 currently holds a stunning Top Critic Average score of 84 out of 100 on OpenCritic.

How Toem 2 expands the original’s cozy photography adventure

Toem 2’s experience involves taking photos and making friends along the way who end up affecting the story. However, the sequel takes the best elements from its predecessor and doubles down with new surprises.

A lot of critics have highlighted these changes while praising the second part. Tyler Treese of PlayStation LifeStyle admired Toem 2’s special new feature and wrote, “This time around, you can jump as well, adding platforming puzzles to the mix.”

Lucas Metz of PSX Brazil wrote that Toem 2 feels immersive because of the “minimalist and monochromatic aesthetic of its environments.”

A.J. Maciejewski of Video Chums praised its cozy atmosphere and wrote, “If you’re looking for a charming, lighthearted game to chill with, then you can’t do much better than Toem 2, and it’s lovely whimsical charm.”

An official description for the sequel reads, “Head off on a relaxing journey, spurred on by your awakened passion for discovering and photographing mysterious ‘events’ known as TOEMs. Toem 2 was crafted to be welcoming for both returning fans of Toem and those who want to jump in for the first time.”

Players can run, jump, and climb through cozy environments while discovering hidden paths, scenic viewpoints, and small details. Throughout their journey, they meet quirky characters and adorable critters.

This time, they can use the camera for other utilities as well. It can help them uncover secrets and document their discoveries. Plus, they can also use it in more unconventional ways with new attachments to solve various problems in each region.

Toem 2 is now available on PS5 for $19.99. However, PlayStation Plus subscribers can get it for $16.99 as part of a limited-time launch offer.
