Need for Speed Heat is currently discounted by 90% on the PlayStation Store. Originally priced at $59.99, the game is now available for $5.99. The offer ends on November 5, 2026.

At night, players enter illegal street races and evade police to earn reputation points. Earning reputation unlocks additional races, vehicles, and other rewards. However, getting busted by the police can cost players some of their progress or in-game money. Police pursuits require strategy, as simply driving fast may not be enough to escape law enforcement.

Need for Speed Heat takes place in Palm City, a fictional city inspired by Miami. The game is known for its striking visuals, particularly during nighttime races. It also boasts a robust weather system that allows for deeper immersion.

Vehicle damage can affect how players approach police pursuits, so ramming obstacles or pursuing cars is not always the best strategy. Customization of vehicles has also been improved, no longer relying on random upgrades that were first introduced in Payback.
